Help Us Fuel AiO's RocketHub Campaign!
WHY WE NEED YOU! Art in the Open is a grassroots, all volunteer- run program, that is tremendously successful despite limited financial support. Your donation will support the critical direct costs that support the artists and the venue for the program---from site permits to signage--all of which enable the program to occur outside in the public realm at no cost to the artist. While AiO partners with organizations city wide to receive in-kind support, we are still faced with funding challenges to implement the program.
With your support, AiO can thrive and continue to offer a unique opportunity to artists and citizens alike while bringing attention to the depth and diversity of the creative processes and our city's waterways which inspire that process while serving as an ecologically critical lifeline to the residents of the region.

3rd Annual Art in the Open: May 18-20, 2012
Art in the Open (AiO) is a citywide event that celebrates artists, their inspirations for creating art, and their relationships with the urban environment. Art in the Open debuted in June 2010, bringing a selected group of artists to the Schuylkill Banks - from the historic Fairmount Water Works to Bartram's Garden - to inspire new ways of seeing the river and the city it runs through. For three days, May 18-20, 2012 a juried selection of artists will again work outside in a creative process open to everyone.
Partnering civic and cultural institutions throughout Philadelphia also offer extensive opportunities for public engagement with the event, showcasing the vibrant community of working artists, galleries and institutions that make Philadelphia a major Urban Art Center, and its two rivers: waterways which continue to inspire creative response and also serve as an ecologically critical lifeline for its residents.
Organizations interested in partnering with AiO by offering complimentary public programming, please contact AiO at info@artintheopenphila.org.
